What (and What Not) to Bring
Knowing what to pack for residential rehab helps ensure a smooth start. While staff can assist with missing documents, bringing them at entry can make the process faster.

What to Expect in the First Week
The first days at Lifegate Freedom Recovery are focused on orientation and adjustment. New participants complete intake paperwork, learn house rules, and meet staff and peers. Each individual is assigned a bed and responsibilities within the home. During this time, outside communication may be limited so participants can focus on their recovery.
Participants begin daily devotionals, classes, and chores right away. While the first week can feel challenging, staff and peers provide guidance and support to help everyone settle in.
Family Communication & Visits
We understand the importance of family support. During the initial 30-day phase, visits may be restricted so participants can focus on building a foundation. After this period, family communication and supervised visits are introduced. Families may also attend special church services or baptisms when appropriate.
Financial Responsibilities Upon Entry
Lifegate Freedom Recovery strives to keep costs accessible. The first month is often covered through sponsorships or reduced fees, giving participants time to focus solely on recovery. Once individuals are cleared for work, they begin contributing to their program costs through job income. Details about responsibilities and program fees are outlined on the Financial Responsibilities page.
Physical and Mental Preparation
Preparing for rehab in Sapulpa means more than packing a bag. We encourage participants to take care of any immediate responsibilities before entering the program, such as arranging childcare, settling court obligations, or completing medical appointments. Mentally and spiritually, it helps to come ready to embrace structure, prayer, and community living.
Can I bring my phone?
Yes. Laptops and personal electronics are not allowed until phase 3 is complete.
Will I have medical care?
Staff coordinate with local clinics for routine care, and emergencies are handled through local hospitals.
What if I smoke cigarettes?
Tobacco use policies are explained during intake; bring unopened packs if permitted.
Can I leave the program early?
Participation is voluntary. If a participant chooses to leave, re-entry may not be guaranteed.
